Beauclerc Carnival & our Cultural Arts Day

We had several of our children go to the Carnival Thursday afternoon. Here we have Bryce with dad both eating cool snow cones, yummy!
Bryce and Ryan.  How cute are they?!!!
Josiah had fun tumbling down the giant slide.
Ethan joins the fun.
Wheeeeeeeeew!
Josiah and Itzel enjoy jumping around.
Bryce finds another classmate to hug.
Cousins Brianna and Glonder take a refreshment break before going out to have some more fun.
Here is our beautiful Olivia from my class last year,

... and our very own Ryan and Serenity with wonderful Rosie from two years ago.  The children all had a great time.  It was wonderful being out there and seeing so many of our students, past and present,  enjoying themselves. As I told Ryan at the end of the day, "..now go home, take a bath, have dinner, brush your teeth and go to bed",  for tomorrow would be another day of FUN.
Here we are on Friday, Cultural Arts Day, refreshed and cheery waiting for the festivities to begin.

Here we have Emma from my class three years ago (our first dual language class) with her sister, our very own Erin.
And here we have Fabian, from Emma's class, with his sister, our sweet Adriana.
Once in our Dual Language program you become part of a great family.  These are a few of my kids from last year with one of my great moms, Mrs. Fuentes.
Mrs. Davis' class is wondering when all the excitement will start.
Ryan, Ethan and Anel, how can you not love these faces?!
Our parade begins with the Wolfson High School band.
We could never have any event without our loyal mascot, JJ.
Our Teacher of the Year (we prefer to call her our Teacher of the World), Mrs. Griffin.
And our Employee of the Year, our incredibly hard-working Ms. Haight.
.....and our Great Leader, lookin' great on a motorcycle, Mrs. Kornblum.
Here are our best of the best, our Safety Patrol.
Who, what is it?
A glimpse of what is to come.
Bryce is showing his moves to the music being played by the band.
Elizabeth and Andres got the music in them also.
Wolfson HS Band, you played very well.
Serenity, Brayand, Ryan and Ethan do the wave to the music being played.
The wave continues.
When it was all over and we  returned to the room, look who was there to greet us!!!!!!
The children were delighted JJ had chosen them to come and visit.
We love JJ!!!!!!!!!
The class gathered in the multipurpose room to see a work of art.
The background started out ALL white.  As the music begins, the artist begins using his chalk.
Midway through much color and details have been added.
The final result was this beautiful drawing showing that though we may come from different places and perhaps look different from one another, we should love our brotherhood throughout.
Then it was off to lunch.  It was nice to have our special visitors having lunch with their little ones.
Having a picnic is soooooo much better than having lunch in the cafeteria!

Mrs. Bigbee with Josiah.  It was great of you to come have lunch with us.
Mrs. Dailey with Erin.   It's nice being casual, isn't it?
Mr. Goodman with Ryan.  Thanks for the chips!!!!!!!
La Sra. Peralta con Brayand.  Gracias tanto por su ayuda. La aprecio.
Sounds of the Carribean.  Nothing like the sound of the steel drum.
It's hot.  Let's get this party starting!
La Sra. Lopez con Itzel y su hermanita.  Itzel se puso tan alegre cuando la vio.
Dancin' to the music.
Check out Anaya's moves!

Here comes the calypso man (on stilts).  I'm so sorry to write my camera gave out at this point.  There were still so many pictures I had wanted to take.  Calypso man came and all the children made a circle around him.  As he danced, he chose some students to dance with him. Two of those children were Serenity and Adriana.  They represented our class marvelously.  After this we heard an author read her book, Pelican Pete, and then we went back to our class to rest and refresh ourselves.  As the children rested they watch a movie.  It was a fun day.  Thank you to all the parents who were able to come and visit with their children.  I hope all of you have a great vacation.  I will see you all next week.  By then you should all be rested and ready to continue learning.
