100 Days, Tennis and Valentine's Day

On February 3rd we celebrated our 100th day in school.  The children had an enjoyable day with various fun "100"  centers and, of course, one pretzel and 2 doughnuts ( get it, 100) as tasty treats.

On Feb. 6th we had Tennis fever at Beauclerc.  The children enjoyed various stations set up by volunteers which allowed them to participate in tennis strategies.  Here we have Alejandro catching tennis balls thrown by one of our volunteers into the cone.

Kloe and Esperanza practice their throws and catching.

Elizabeth and Erin are definitely in the Tennis zone.

OK, let's try a bigger cone :)

Bryce wants his turn at catching now.

Adriana wonders where the ball went.

Now you need to be alert and catch the ball with your hands.  Brisa is doing a great job.

OK Itzel, let's bounce the ball on the racquet.

Josiah seems to be running after the ball more than bouncing it.

Now you'll have to hit the ball over the net.

Be careful not to drop it.

...and, of course, in tennis we must be quick.

It's Valentine's Day.  They have all made and decorated their boxes.  Now let's hurry up and start the fun.

Miss Carson, our intern, helps Elizabeth with finishing touches in her box.  Elizabet, it is gorgeous.

Adriana's mom, Mrs. Quintana, helps them with their heart fish.  They really were very cute.

Elizabeth, Alejandro, Luna and Esperanza are graphing their candy hearts.

Anaya, Kloe, Itzel and Josiah are figuring out which shapes have b's and which have d's.

Serenity, Ryan, Erin, Brayand, Adriana and Ethan are making beautiful bouquets for theirs moms.

Alejandro's mom, Mrs. Fernandez, helps the children with their graphs.

A sweet finish to the morning activities with some sweet treats.

Yes!, I do believe they had a good time.

Mmmmmmmm!

After lunch the children had the opportunity to look in their boxes and see who gave them Valentine's treats.

They also had the opportunity to thank all there friends who took the time out to make a treat for them.  A great lesson in graciousness.

Mrs. Perez is a very important part of our class.  She loves our children as much as they love her.

As always, we could not have had the great day we did without the help of our wonderful moms.  Thank you Ms. Peralta, Mrs. Quintana and Mrs. Fernandez.  I love my class and I love our parents.
